River Cottage HQ. Park Farm, Musbury
This project started with the survey of the farm house for one purchaser who eventually sold it on to the River Cottage organisation. This was to give them a base for their operation and a demonstration farm. The existing barn was converted to provide a commercial scale kitchen and a space for the courses and events while the 17th century farmhouse was renovated and extended to give them accommodation and a back drop for their TV productions. In both the barn and the farmhouse this was achieved with minimal disturbance to the original fabric of the building including the retention of the original roof timbers, strengthened and repaired where necessary to support the new roof coverings.
The barn suffered a devastating fire in 2012 and has subsequently been rebuilt with our design for the new roof structure and the repairs for the walls and further alterations.
