18 x 8.4 m main sports hall with 6.8 m clear headroom for badminton together with full changing room facilities, crèche, snooker room, multi-function room with skittle alley. The building is designed on ecologically sound principles using thick recycled newspaper insulation for energy efficiency. The external walls are to constructed with fair-faced blockwork inner lining to give thermal mass and an outer timber frame construction clad in oak boarding. Since its original construction, we have designed the reconstruction of the building following a major fire and an extension.
